If there was any doubt about who the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is in 2026, the new MotoGP livery clears it up instantly. Black and fluo yellow are back. No compromise. No soft edges. Just the colours that built the team’s visual identity from day one.
After a 2025 season that leaned more into white accents and a cleaner, brighter look, this year’s bike feels like a deliberate step back to something more raw and more aggressive. As the team itself puts it, this isn’t about following trends. It’s about returning to what feels true.
From “Black and White” to “Black and Light”
Last season’s livery brought balance. The white elements gave the bike more contrast and a slightly more refined feel, especially under the lights. It worked but it also softened the overall impact.
The 2026 bike drops most of that restraint. The black dominates again, with fluo yellow cutting through it in sharp, confident lines. The result is what the team calls “Black and Light” but on track it reads as darker, meaner and unmistakably VR46.
It’s a look that feels closer to the team’s early MotoGP years and even further back to Valentino Rossi’s most iconic colour combinations.
Aldo Drudi Details That Reward a Closer Look
As expected, the livery comes from Aldo Drudi and it shows.
One of the standout details is the shadow of the famous 46 sitting behind the rider numbers. It’s subtle. You don’t always notice it in photos. But once you see it, it adds depth and a sense of heritage without being loud about it.
This is classic Drudi work. The bike looks aggressive at speed but the small details are there for fans who care enough to look twice.
How It Compares to Past Special Liveries
VR46 has never been shy about experimenting with special designs. Think of the Indonesian GP colours or the American GP liveries from past seasons. Those bikes were bold, playful and often tied closely to local culture or events.
The 2026 livery is different. It’s not trying to stand out for one weekend. It’s not a celebration or a tribute. It’s a statement.
Where the special liveries felt like limited editions, this one feels like a reset. A reminder of what the team wants to be seen as every race weekend.
The Riders Carrying the Colours
Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli will be the ones taking this black and fluo yellow machine into battle.
On track, the darker base should make the bike look even more aggressive under braking and acceleration. Off track, the livery suits both riders’ personalities well. It’s serious, focused and confident without trying too hard.
Any Technical Changes?
While the headline is clearly the livery, the team continues with Ducati machinery for 2026. The bike is based on the latest Ducati Desmosedici package available to VR46, with ongoing refinements expected throughout the season rather than a single radical change at launch.
As always in MotoGP, development never really stops. What we’re seeing now is the visual identity wrapped around a platform that will continue to evolve race by race.

Is this a clear improvement over last year’s white-accented design? Do black and fluo yellow still represent the heart of VR46 for you or were you hoping for something new?
Share your thoughts in the comments. This is one of those liveries that’s going to spark opinions and that’s probably exactly the point.
